 JOB DESCRIPTION

The Jammu & Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has issued an official notification (Advertisement Number 02/2024) for recruitment to the position of Sub-Inspector in the J&K Police under the Home Department. A total of 669 vacancies are available for direct recruitment. • Pay scale: Level-6C, ₹35,700–₹1,13,100 per month

AGE LIMIT (as on 01-01-2026)

• Minimum Age limit for all Candidates: 18 Years

• Maximum Age Limit for OM/ SC/ ST-1/ ST-2/ RBA/ ALC/ IB/ OBC/ EWS/ Government Service/ Contractual Employment Candidates: 28 Years (candidates should be born between 01-01-1996 to 01-01-2006)

• Maximum Age Limit for In-Service Police Personnel Candidates: 30 Years (candidates should be born between 01-01-1994 to 01-01-2006)

• Every Ex-Servicemen having served in the Armed Forces shall be allowed to deduct the period of such Service from his Actual Age and if the Resultant Age does not exceed the maximum age limit prescribed for the post by more than 3 years, he shall be deemed to satisfy the condition regarding Age Limit: Candidate should not be born after 01-01-2006.

PHYSICAL STANDARDS

For PST:

For Males:

• Height: 5′-6″ (minimum)

• Chest girth: 32″ (unexpanded)

• Chest girth: 33 ½” (expanded)

For Females:

• Height: 5’2″ (minimum)

• Provided that the minimum height for candidates belonging to the Gorkha Community/Bot Tribe is relaxable by 2″.

For PET:

For Male candidates:

• Long Race: 1600 meters in 6 ½ minutes (Six minutes thirty seconds)

• Pushups: 20 (one cycle of up and down to be counted as one)

For Female candidates:

• Long Race: 1000 meters in 6 ½ minutes (Six minutes thirty seconds)

• Shot Put (4Kgs): 14 ½ feet in three attempts.
